They were established in 2003 with the intention of providing simple, affordable travel insurance for New Zealanders. They are a locally run company whose call centre is based in Auckland and they offer 24-hour travel insurance solutions.

What do they offer?

1cover offer a range of travel insurance policies depending on the needs of the traveller.

They have group booking packages for up to 25 people, domestic and international trip insurances, annual multi trip packages and winter sport specific packages.

Benefits included in some of their policies are cover for luggage, cancellations, car hire excess and medical expenses (including 34 pre existing conditions), and 24-hour emergency help.

How are they rated?

1cover has provided cover to over one million customers since they were founded in 2003.

They have a financial strength rating of AA- and are considered to be one of New Zealand's best direct travel insurance providers.
